Video shows truck carrying highly reactive chemicals exploding in Denny’s parking lot
A truck carrying diphenylmethane, a highly reactive chemical, exploded in the parking lot of a Spartanburg Denny’s restaurant, prompting emergency responses and a quarantine of the area. The incident, caused by the chemical reacting with water, resulted in no injuries but forced the restaurant to close and decontaminate employees. The truck belonged to Patriot Environmental Services, which stated the chemical was picked up during a field service job.
