Abdul El-Sayed wins close Michigan Democratic Senate primary

Abdul El-Sayed has been projected as the winner of Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary, defeating Rep. Haley Stevens by approximately 15,000 votes. The race concluded after nearly 12 hours of vote counting, with both candidates acknowledging the outcome. El-Sayed will face Republican nominee Mike Rogers in the November general election.
