North Carolina reported 867 confirmed cyclosporiasis cases as of August 4, with 149 new cases since July 28. The illness, linked to parsley, cilantro, and lettuce but not the Taco Bell outbreak, caused 33 hospitalizations and primarily affects adults aged 19-54. Cases are being tracked weekly by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
