Suspect arrested and charged with arson for Brooklyn church fire

John Jones, a 24-year-old man, was arrested and charged with arson for allegedly setting fire to the South Bushwick Reformed Church in Brooklyn, a 1853 Greek Revival structure. Surveillance footage and evidence linked him to the June 19 fire, which destroyed the church's steeple and sanctuary, and to prior incidents of property damage.
