Most-detailed-ever image of sun reveals roiling waves for first time
Astronomers captured the highest-resolution image of the sun's surface, revealing Kelvin–Helmholtz instabilities (KHI) for the first time. The discovery, made at the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope in Hawaii, may improve predictions of solar weather and its impact on Earth.
