SpaceX rocket crashes into moon at 8700 kilometres per hour
A discarded SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket upper stage crashed into the moon at 8700 km/h, creating a crater near the Einstein crater. The rocket, which launched in January 2023 carrying the Hakuto-R spacecraft from ispace, was uncontrollably on a collision course. Astronomers and lunar orbiters are observing the impact site for scientific data.
