[US] Got a call from a jail?

A person received a suspicious call from an 800 number claiming to be from a jail, followed by a request for payment via debit or credit card to speak to an inmate/detainee. After realizing it was a scam, they blocked the number and reported the incident, confirming their brother was not in jail.
