Landry builds on ‘LA DOGE’ initiative with a budget hike for inspector general

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry increased the Office of Inspector General's budget from $2.2 million to $5.5 million for the fiscal year starting July 1. Angele Davis, appointed as inspector general in January, plans to allocate $3 million to contractors to identify spending reductions, building on Landry’s LA DOGE initiative, which claims $1 billion in savings without detailed documentation. The new Louisiana Taxpayer Protection Initiative, led by Davis, will use AI and federal partnerships to detect fraud and waste.
