Hays County considers hiring freeze, other cost-saving measures ahead of budget

Hays County is considering a hiring freeze for full-time employees and reducing the number of inmates in Haskell County to under 50 as part of cost-saving measures. The county is also exploring opportunities to house more juveniles from other counties in its juvenile detention facility to generate additional revenue.
