Capital Development Authority moves for early start of work on cricket stadium

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) plans to construct a 35,000-capacity cricket stadium near D-12 in Islamabad's Zone III, modeled after Dubai International Stadium. A joint venture of Habib Construction Service and ZKB-EA submitted the lowest bid of Rs8.9 billion for the project, which includes a three-kilometre road network. The construction falls under permissible recreation projects in Zone III, and the CDA is seeking federal approval for hotels and commercial areas.
