Forest Lake police: Alcohol believed to be factor in serious crash involving state trooper

A two-vehicle crash on I-35 in Forest Lake involved a state trooper and a Lexus driver, both of whom sustained serious injuries. Preliminary evidence suggests alcohol was a factor in the collision, which occurred when the Lexus struck a parked squad car conducting stationary speed enforcement. The interstate was temporarily closed during the investigation.
