Red Sox get All-Star catcher Adley Rutschman from AL East rival Orioles, AP source says
The Boston Red Sox are acquiring All-Star catcher Adley Rutschman from the Baltimore Orioles, according to an anonymous AP source. Rutschman, 28, is currently on the injured list with wrist inflammation and has missed part of the season due to injuries. The Orioles, who drafted Rutschman in 2019, are trading him to an AL East rival amid a struggling season and will now rely on Samuel Basallo as their primary catcher.
