Attorney General issues consumer alert on speedy motorized two-wheelers illegally marketed as e-bikes

New York Attorney General Letitia James issued a consumer alert warning that motorized two-wheelers exceeding state speed limits are illegally marketed as e-bikes or e-scooters. These devices, classified as e-motos or motorcycles, require additional licensing and insurance, and their sale or use violates state law, following a fatal crash involving a 17-year-old rider.
