An Indonesian ferry caught fire off the main island of Java, killing five people and leaving an unknown number missing. Rescuers saved 231 passengers from the Mutiara Sentosa 2 ferry, which was traveling from Surabaya in East Java to Makassar in South Sulawesi with an initial reported 271 passengers. Survivors described jumping overboard and staying afloat for hours before being rescued.
