Washington state fires destroy hundreds of structures and force Spokane-area residents to evacuate

Wildfires in eastern Washington state, particularly near Spokane, have destroyed at least 600 homes and structures, forced 60,000 residents to evacuate, and burned 12 square miles. The fires remain 0% contained, with no injuries reported so far, while similar blazes in Idaho, Oregon, and Utah continue to threaten hundreds more structures.
