Chinese biotech giant Wuxi AppTec sees first-half earnings surge amid US scrutiny
Wuxi AppTec, Asia’s largest contract pharmaceutical research provider, reported a 33.7% year-on-year increase in first-half net profit to 11.08 billion yuan, driven by strong demand for weight-loss and diabetes drugs and growth in its US business. The company’s earnings exceeded Bloomberg analysts’ expectations.
