Palestinian ‘doctor of the poor’ says he faces abuse, medical neglect in Israeli prison
Dr. Mazen Rantisi, a Palestinian physician known as the 'doctor of the poor,' claims he faces physical abuse and medical neglect in an Israeli prison. He was detained in June 2023 and indicted for his role as chairman of the Union of Health Work Committees, a Palestinian non-profit providing medical care. Rantisi alleges Israeli prison authorities withheld his medication for 10 days and continue to deny him one of his required medicines.
