Mamdani admin to turn felons into gourmet-food producers for ‘farm-to-table’ dining at NYC jails
The New York City Correction Department has contracted FarmBox Foods, a Colorado-based firm, to train inmates at Rikers Island and other municipal jails in vertical farming for a farm-to-table dining initiative. The program aims to teach participants urban agricultural techniques.
