Gironde megafire contained: Nearly 3,000 firefighters remain deployed
France’s wildfire near Bordeaux has been contained, with nearly 3,000 firefighters still deployed. Most of the 200,000 evacuated residents have returned home, though parts of the fire continue to burn. The blaze has scorched an area four times the size of Paris.
