NASA opens its first wind tunnel in 40 years at Langley Research Center

NASA opened its first new wind tunnel in 40 years, the Flight Dynamics Research Facility (FDRF), at Langley Research Center in Virginia. The $53 million facility, built by BL Harbert International, will test NASA’s X-66 Transonic Truss-Braced Wing project and supports aeronautics and spacecraft development, including the DAVINCI mission to Venus and Orion spacecraft for Artemis.
