Suren, beloved camel at the Detroit Zoo, dies at the age of 18

Suren, an 18-year-old camel at the Detroit Zoo, was euthanized due to severe osteoarthritis and mobility challenges. The zoo's veterinary team tried treatments like stem cell therapy and joint injections but decided to end her suffering after she became unable to stand. Suren's daughter, Rusi, remains at the zoo with a new companion.
