Drug testing college students: IITs, IIMs begin with voluntary urine tests at admission

IITs and IIMs are initiating voluntary urine drug tests for students as part of a government mission to screen 10 lakh students at 170 central higher education institutes by 2029. The tests, conducted under the National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre's framework, are confidential, non-punitive, and intended solely for counseling purposes.
