Warsh considering reducing number of Fed meetings, NYT reports

Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh is considering reducing the frequency of the Fed's policy meetings, which currently occur eight times a year. The proposal was discussed at the recent FOMC meeting, amid investor criticism over limited guidance on interest rates and calls for stronger inflation-curbing measures. Warsh also plans to reduce press conferences and has established task forces to evaluate changes in monetary policy.
