Detroit’s People Mover is basically a Disney ride. Here’s why

Detroit’s People Mover, a driverless transit system, originated from a Ford-sponsored Disney attraction at the 1964 World’s Fair. Disney adapted the Ford Magic Skyway into the Disneyland PeopleMover, which evolved into the Detroit system as part of a federal transit program. The Detroit People Mover opened in 1987 and is a descendant of the technology first used to promote the Ford Mustang.
