Fake surgeon sentenced for killing Whitestone mother of two during botched medical procedure in his Astoria home: DA

Felipe Hoyos-Foronda, an unlicensed individual, performed a botched surgical procedure in his Astoria home that resulted in the death of Maria Peñaloza, a 31-year-old mother of two. He was sentenced to 5 to 15 years in prison for second-degree manslaughter after administering a lethal dose of lidocaine during the illegal removal of buttock implants.
