The only licensed prosecutor leaves Addison County office
The only licensed prosecutor in Addison County is leaving, forcing the Vermont Attorney General’s Office to appoint a special prosecutor to handle cases. Eva Vekos, the State’s Attorney temporarily barred from practicing law, will remain in office without a deputy, while Peter Bevere, a Rutland County deputy attorney and Vekos’s opponent in the upcoming election, will oversee prosecutions under the Attorney General’s Office.
