Commission launches major hiring push for AI Office

The European Commission is launching a hiring campaign for its Artificial Intelligence Office, part of DG Connect, to enhance enforcement of the EU's AI regulations. The office will gain full powers to police high-risk AI models and impose sanctions, with 40 new jobs expected by 2027. Professor Yoshua Bengio noted concerns about staffing adequacy.
