Leptospirosis mortality spirals up in Kerala

Kerala reported 49 leptospirosis-related deaths in July 2026, with 30 confirmed and 19 suspected cases. As of 2026, there have been 1,381 confirmed and 922 probable cases, resulting in 115 total deaths, including 52 probable leptospirosis deaths.
