Andhra Pradesh to bring gaurs from central India to feed Nallamala’s tigers

Andhra Pradesh plans to translocate gaurs from central India to the Nallamala hills to feed tigers, as gaurs have nearly disappeared from the region. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests P.V. Chalapathi Rao stated the move aims to expand the prey base and improve genetic diversity, with two tigresses each being brought from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
