At least 18 migrants died after breaching the border between Morocco and the Spanish exclave of Ceuta, leading to a chaotic humanitarian crisis. Spain deployed military forces as thousands of migrants, including unaccompanied children, flooded into Ceuta, with many drowning or killed in stampedes while attempting to cross.
