Burglary charge could send man linked to Navajo elder’s disappearance back to federal prison
Preston Tolth, the only person charged in the 2021 disappearance of Navajo elder Ella Mae Begay, faces a new burglary charge in Phoenix. Tolth, who was released from federal prison in June 2026, is now in custody after being arrested for an unrelated home break-in. His prior conviction involved stealing Begay’s truck, beating her, and leaving her on the roadside.
