Israel carries out demolitions near Unesco site in Lebanon

Israel's military destroyed several 'key features' of an alleged underground tunnel network near the historic Beaufort Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Lebanon. The castle, known as Qalaat al-Shaqif in Arabic, is a strategic vantage point located 5km from Nabatieh, southern Lebanon. Israel seized the castle in May, having previously captured it in 1982 before withdrawing in 2000.
