Custer County fire restrictions downgraded from Stage 3 to Stage 1, according to sheriff

Custer County fire restrictions were downgraded from Stage 3 to Stage 1 effective July 31, following consultations between the sheriff's office, fire protection district, and National Weather Service. Stage 1 restrictions prohibit open burning, fireworks, outdoor smoking, and other activities but allow controlled fires in designated areas.
