La Vergne's mayor, Jason Cole, raised concerns about mold, water damage, broken ceiling tiles, and HVAC issues at La Vergne High School ahead of the new academic year. Rutherford County Schools stated they are addressing ceiling tiles and confirmed the HVAC system is functioning properly, while a new school wing is expected to open soon.
