With no incumbent seeking reelection, 2 women running for Broward School Board in District 7
Two women are running for the Broward County District 7 School Board after the incumbent, Nora Rupert, does not seek reelection. Cynthia Dominique, a U.S. Army veteran and nurse, and Rochelle 'Shelly' Soffer, a school speech language pathologist, outline plans to address financial challenges and declining enrollment in the district. The nonpartisan election is scheduled for Aug. 18.
