US Senate panel advances Trump Labor Department nominee

The US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions advanced President Donald Trump’s nominee, Keith Sonderling, for the Labor Department leadership in a party-line vote. Sonderling, who has served as acting Labor Secretary since April 2026, previously held the role of deputy Labor secretary and was also named acting director of the US Office of Government Ethics.
