Varayattumudy in Kerala’s Idukki emerging a thriving habitat of Nilgiri tahrs
The Nilgiri tahr population in Varayattumudy, Kerala’s Idukki, has increased from 50 in 2022 to nearly 150. The Forest dept. completed a 22.5-hectare eco-restoration project to improve food availability for the tahrs.
