Midterm election fears run high, poll finds

A Gallup poll finds majorities of Americans are concerned about election officials being pressured, lax ballot security, and voter intimidation ahead of the 2026 midterms. Nearly 70% worry about politicians influencing officials, with 56% of Republicans and higher shares of Democrats expressing concern. Nearly 80% are skeptical about both parties' redistricting efforts, and 53% fear ineligible voters casting ballots, a concern most prevalent among Republicans.
