US military carries out 'heavy wave' of retaliatory strikes on Iran for attack on bases
The US military conducted retaliatory strikes against Iran following Iranian missile attacks on American bases in Jordan, targeting Islamic Revolutionary Guard facilities. The strikes, which killed three people including a child in Iran's Qeshm island, intensified regional hostilities and derailed hopes for renewed negotiations. Saudi Arabia and the US also struck Iran-aligned militant bases in Iraq, while Israel accused Hezbollah of violating a ceasefire.
