Mother of two arrested by ICE in Nashville

Maria Perez, a mother of two seeking asylum from Guatemala, was arrested by ICE in Nashville while taking her children to the doctor. Perez, who has no criminal history and is breastfeeding, was detained at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center, leaving her children, including one with Down syndrome, in a neighbor's care. The Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition claims the arrest violates ICE policy and has filed a complaint with the Department of Homeland Security.
