ICE seeks nearly $500K fine against immigration lawyer accused of filing fake asylum claims

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is seeking a $470,584 fine against immigration attorney Suraj Raj Singh for allegedly submitting 118 fraudulent documents in 54 immigration cases, which contained nearly identical accounts of persecution. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) alleges the fraudulent claims undermine the immigration system and delay removal of dangerous individuals.
