Tennessee selected as finalist to potentially accept nuclear waste in exchange for federal assistance developing nuclear energy

Tennessee is one of five states selected to potentially host Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses, which would accept nuclear waste in exchange for federal assistance to develop nuclear energy. The initiative could bring up to $50 billion in capital investment, $10 billion in state and local tax revenue, and create nearly 25,000 jobs.
