Homeless man becomes first Metro Nashville Police arrest under state’s felony anti-camping law

A homeless man in Nashville became the first person arrested under Tennessee’s felony anti-camping law after officers responded to a 911 call at South Inglewood Park. Joseph Williams was charged with felony camping, evading arrest, and had an outstanding warrant, but later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and remains without permanent housing.
