East Bay family cat euthanized after contracting rabies

An indoor pet cat in the East Bay tested positive for rabies and was euthanized, according to the Alameda County Public Health Department and Vector Control. The cat lived in a Pleasanton household and had regular access to a balcony despite being labeled 'indoor-only'.
