A sixth person has died from Legionnaires’ disease in an outbreak on New York City’s Upper East Side, with 90 cases confirmed since July 2. Health officials attribute the outbreak to a water-cooling tower with live Legionella bacteria but caution the link is not definitive. The affected area is contained to ZIP codes 10028, 10128, and 10075, and all 59 positive cooling towers have been disinfected.
