Reports of possible unlawful conduct by immigration officers increased in June, LAPD says

The Los Angeles Police Department reported 12 incidents of potential unlawful conduct by federal immigration officers in June, the highest since tracking began in March 2025. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained 43,000 people in June, the highest monthly total since January 2025. The increase in reported incidents may reflect improved LAPD methods for capturing such events following a city directive issued in February 2025.
