Even Short Bouts of Antipsychotics Linked to Diabetes Risk

A Dutch cohort study found that initiating antipsychotic medications, even for short durations, is associated with an increased prevalence of pharmacologically treated type 2 diabetes in youths. The study analyzed nearly 90,000 youths to establish this link.
