Desert data center developer challenges county moratorium in court

Imperial Valley Computer Manufacturing, a data center developer, is challenging Imperial County's moratorium on data center projects in court, arguing the freeze lacks justification for an immediate public health or safety threat. The county extended the moratorium until June 2027 to evaluate land use rules, but the developer claims the county cannot legally delay a project that has been under review for nearly two years.
