Teleprompter operator accused of betting on Trump speeches is out of a job

A White House teleprompter operator, Gabriel Perez, is no longer employed after being placed on unpaid leave for betting on President Donald Trump's speeches using insider knowledge on the Kalshi prediction market. The White House called the insider trading 'deeply unfortunate and... a disgrace,' and Kalshi's enforcement team reported the trades to regulators.
