2nd octogenarian in modern US history faces lethal injection as Florida plans 2 executions Tuesday
Florida is scheduled to execute two inmates on Tuesday, including an ex-police officer convicted of a 1987 murder and an 80-year-old man who would be the second-oldest executed in U.S. history. Both had their appeals denied by the Florida Supreme Court. Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis has increased the execution rate, overseeing 19 executions in 2025.
